THE ACTION begins at 4pm.
While Carlton will meet Richmond at the MCG from 7:20pm, fans can get a taste of their respective VFL sides in action at Punt Road.
Maintaining the tradition established in 2016, the VFL Blues and Tigers will do battle at Punt Road prior to the AFL game, a week before official proceedings get underway in the state-league competition.
Please note, there will be no live stream of the VFL practice match: coverage of games will begin next week, when Carlton hosts Geelong in the VFL season opener at IKON Park on Friday night.
The Blues have named a strong squad for the encounter with the Tigers, welcoming back some key VFL-listed talent that were rested last week against Port Melbourne.
Brodie Kemp will play his first game of the 2023 calendar year down back, while the likes of Paddy Dow and Jack Carroll will lead the midfield brigade.
Announced as the side’s VFL captain for 2023, Ben Crocker will spearhead the attack from a Carlton perspective.
