CARLTON AFLW Head of Development Kade Simpson will step away from the program after three seasons.
Simpson commenced his coaching career as an assistant coach with the AFLW program in 2020 after playing 342 games for the Club’s AFL side and stepped into the Head of Development role ahead of the season seven campaign.
The 38-year-old will now take up a line coach position with Hawthorn’s AFL side.
Carlton General Manager of Women’s Football Brett Munro thanked Simpson for his dedication to the women’s program over the last two years.
“Kade has made a significant impact on the women’s program and has grown as an assistant coach, and more recently as our Head of Development,” Munro said.
“His ability to connect with the entire playing group and get the best out of our young developing players is a testament to his character and his vast experience in the football space.”
Simpson said he was extremely grateful for the opportunity to join the women’s program shortly after retiring as a player.
“I can’t thank the Club enough for allowing me to join the AFLW program and for supporting me in the beginning of my coaching journey,” Simpson said.
“Being able to work with Daniel Harford has been a pleasure, and he has been instrumental in my personal development since moving into a coaching position.
“I have been a part of Carlton since 2003, so it certainly is difficult to leave, but I thank the Club for their belief in me and their unwavering support.”
