CALEB Marchbank will stay in Navy Blue in 2023 after signing a new contract today.
Marchbank showed he was capable of slotting right back into the Carlton back six during the final three games of the 2022 season and will be looking to solidify his spot and add depth to the defensive line-up in 2023.
The 25-year-old made his return through the VFL in May before being recalled to the senior side for the Round 13 clash against Essendon, and later put together a consistent run of games to end the year and set him up for a strong summer.
Carlton Head of List Management Nick Austin said Marchbank has never wavered in his determination to get back to playing at the highest level.
“Caleb’s resilience has resonated not only within the four walls of the Club, but with the AFL community as a whole,” Austin said.
“It was fantastic to see him step back into the senior side this year after over 1,000 days away and he immediately proved how valuable he is in the backline.
“We are invested in Caleb’s development and have seen first-hand how committed he is. He has proven that when fit he is an integral member of the side and we’re looking forward to seeing his progression continue over the next year at Carlton.”
