The Blues will again have the privilege of opening the 2018 AFL season against traditional rival Richmond at the MCG.
The AFL will today formally announce the Round 1 fixture, which will see the reigning premiers hosting Carlton at the MCG on Thursday 22 March 2018.
The season opener will be the 11th time in 12 years that the traditional foes open the AFL season, dating back to 2007.
The full 2018 AFL fixture will be released on Tuesday 31 October.
