TWO BLUES now sit in the top 10 of the AFL Coaches Association’s AFL Champion Player of the Year award.

Carlton delivered a comprehensive 63-point win over West Coast at Optus Stadium, with five Blues polling votes.

Charlie Curnow polled nine votes for his five-goal haul, in a performance where he was the standout performer on the ground.

Producing 10 score involvements, Curnow was dominant aerially with eight marks while taking his season tally to 50 goals as he retook the lead in the Coleman Medal leaderboard.

Curnow was the one who stood up at a tricky time for the Blues, with all five goals coming before three quarter time before the visitors piled on the goals in a last-quarter flurry.

Curnow now sits 10th on the leaderboard with 46 votes while teammate Patrick Cripps sits sixth on 65 votes after another polling performance.

Cripps received five votes alongside Matt Kennedy as Carlton's midfield got on top, but it was Tom De Koning who received seven votes for his dominant ruck showing which gave the on-ballers first use.

De Koning came up against Nic Naitanui and finished with 17 hitouts against the former All Australian, but it was his work around the ground - registering 16 disposals and a career-high six clearances - which brought the 22-year-old’s game to another level.

De Koning was one of the most influential players on the field in the Round 17 clash, proving that he can go against the best under any conditions.

Cripps’ performance built steadily over the day, bursting out of the gates in the final term to help deliver the final blow to the Eagles.

The skipper boasted 18 contested possessions, nine clearances and eight score involvements as well as a goal in the final term, while fellow midfielder Kennedy gathered 27 disposals, seven tackles and five clearances in a four-quarter performance.

Harry McKay rounds out the votes with three, ripping the game away from West Coast in the final term to finish with a five-goal haul.

Setting the tone with a fantastic chase-down tackle in the first quarter, McKay would finish with 13 disposals and seven marks, partnering well with Curnow once again while contributing three of Carlton's seven goals in the final term.
