CARLTON AFLW midfielder Mimi Hill has signed a new deal with the Blues, keeping her at the Game Changers until the completion of the 2023 season.

The reigning NAB AFL Women's Rising Star had a phenomenal return to the side in 2022 after sustaining an ACL injury during the 2021 campaign.

She was named one of the team’s best players in all six games she featured in during season six, including three best on grounds, and backed up her Rising Star status with a third-placed finish in Carlton’s Best and Fairest.

Hill was selected as Carlton’s first-round pick in the 2020 NAB AFL Women's Draft (pick No.12), and the 19-year-old has quickly become one of the brightest young stars in the competition, averaging over 20 disposals a game last season.

Hill said she's excited to continue her time with the Game Changers and believes good things are coming over the next couple of years.

“Carlton has been so supportive to me through my career to date, so the decision to re-sign could not have been easier,” she said.

“We’re building a great program here with a lot of young talent starting to come through and that will put us in a good position over the next couple of years.

“It’s an awesome time to be at the Club and I’m looking forward to seeing what we can achieve over the next two seasons.”

Carlton General Manager of Women’s Football Brett Munro says Hill will only get better as she matures as a footballer over the coming years.

“Mimi is so exciting to watch and it is a testament to our program to be able to retain someone of her talent,” Munro said.

“We knew she was going to attract attention from other clubs after her performances earlier this year, so to have her recommit to Carlton for another two seasons is the best outcome we could have hoped for.

“Mimi is a key part of our program moving forward and we are thrilled to be able to have her lead our midfield into the future.”
