THE Carlton Football Club is pleased to announce the signing of Phoebe McWilliams to the Game Changers for the next two seasons.

McWilliams lands at the Blues as part of a trade with Geelong that also sees the Club improve its draft hand, trading up the order to now hold pick No.8 in the Victorian pool (national pick No.17) in the 2022 NAB AFL Women's Draft. Victorian picks Nos.10 and 23 (national picks Nos.21 and 42) were traded to the Cats.

McWilliams comes to the Club with a wealth of experience in AFLW as a key forward, already being a three-time club-leading goalkicker.

She was signed as a priority player by Greater Western Sydney before the 2016 NAB AFL Women's Draft and made her debut in Round 1, 2017 for the Giants.

After 14 games and 14 goals with GWS she moved to Geelong for the 2019 season where she played a further 31 games for the Cats.

The 36-year-old was Geelong’s leading goalkicker in Season 6 and will be a strong paring alongside Darcy Vescio in the forward line.

Carlton General Manager of Women’s Football Brett Munro says McWilliams is a proven target in the forward line who can be counted on to deliver.

“Phoebe is a proven AFLW talent having been the leading goalkicker at both the Cats and Giants and will work closely with the competition’s leading goalkicker in Darcy Vescio,” Munro said.

“With a strong core of emerging talents throughout our squad, having Phoebe’s ability in an important area of the ground with be invaluable for us and the development of this playing group.”
