OFF THE back of the loss in Perth on the weekend, Sam Walsh lamented that Carlton wasn't able to get the game on its terms.
Trailing for the majority of the match, Carlton was unable to generate enough meaningful forward forays despite the high possession counts of a number of the team's midfielders.
Walsh said that this doesn’t stem from a lack of planning or anticipation, but more so a lack of execution.
“I think we’re confident in the plans that we’ve got, it comes down to execution at times,” Walsh said.
Another perfect 10 votes for the skipper. 👏

“Even in the midfield we’re probably winning our fair share of the ball but it wasn't as damaging as it could’ve been so there will be some good things to review today.”
Finding the game ‘disappointing’, Walsh is looking forward to reviewing the issues and look ahead to this week against North Melbourne.
“Freo are a really good side and we knew that going in and we couldn’t quite get the game on our terms for a lot of the game,” he said.
“There’s a lot to work on and that’s been the theme for your year.
“We’re in for a hard working week and looking forward to North.”
"We’ll go back and look at the game and review it pretty hard."

Here's what Michael Voss had to say on his side's second loss of the season.
Walsh addressed the fadeouts and slow quarters, noting that they can't hang their heads and have to try and solve the issue quickly.
"I think we’ve played quarters and halves where we’ve played the footy that we want to but it still lacks consistency and for us: that was the same on the weekend," he said.
"I don’t think you can lose confidence off the back off that: you’ve just got to realise what you have to work on and we’ve got to be ready for a tough, physical game. I think a lot comes off the back of that.
It was confirmed earlier today that Marc Pittonet has suffered a PCL injury.
However, Walsh was adamant that Carlton will have the talent on Saturday night at Marvel Stadium, with the Carlton Reserves sitting third on the VFL ladder after winning four games out of five.
“I think looking at our VFL at the moment, guys have been coming in, getting an opportunity and performing well,” he said.
"There are going to be opportunities for guys which will be great and I think everyone’s looking forward to that.”
