CO-VICE captain Jacob Weitering will lead Carlton into action on Sunday.

With skipper Patrick Cripps to miss the game against Port Adelaide due to a hamstring injury, it was announced on Saturday that Weitering would step in as captain for the Blues in Round 5.

It’s something that Weitering is no stranger to, having filled in last year in the two games where both Cripps and Sam Docherty at the back-end of 2021.

Weitering’s first game as stand-in skipper saw Carlton prevail at the MCG against Collingwood.

However, this will be the first time that the John Nicholls Medallist will lead the team out in front of a Carlton crowd: last year’s Round 18 clash was played in front of an empty home of football.

Tomorrow’s game will begin at 1:40pm AEST.
