Bluebaggers, ‘Leather Poisoning: Football Possessions’ is now on display at Brunswick’s Counihan Gallery.
Whether you’re a football fanatic, an art enthusiast or a mix of both, this exhibit is something you’re bound to enjoy.
The exhibition, which opened on Saturday 11 March, features works by gallery namesake Noel Counihan and other artists who offer critical and comic insights into ‘football culture’ or muse on the footy stadium as a site of ritual, spectacle, group dynamics and politics.
On Saturday 18 March, curator Victor Griss will join the artists of the display to discuss the exhibition and their own football possessions from 2:30pm to 4:00pm.
To mark Women’s History Month and the inaugural AFL Women’s season, a number of free programs, talks and events will also be on offer at the Gallery for the duration of ‘Leather Poisoning’.
The exhibition will be open for you to enjoy for free, until it closes on Sunday 9 April.
