THE FIRST Carlton Reserves line-up for the 2022 VFL season is in.

The Blues get their campaign underway from IKON Park on Friday evening at 5:05pm, with 11 AFL-listed players named.

Dominic Akuei will have his first hitout as a Blue after arriving at the Club as a Category B rookie, joining fellow 2021 draft class member Jesse Motlop.

He’ll be joined in defence by Jordan Boyd, Luke Parks, Tom Williamson and debutant Lewis Young from an AFL-listed standpoint.

Matthew Cottrell, Paddy Dow and Jack Newnes will look to bring some zip around the ball at the feet of Alex Mirkov, while Brodie Kemp looks likely to reprise his new role in attack alongside best-and-fairest winner Ben Crocker.

A number of VFL-listed Blues will get their first official game for the Club after impressing in pre-season, including Josh Cripps and Michael Lewis, who featured at IKON Park as AFL train-ons throughout the summer.

There are also starts for Ned Cahill, Jesse Glass-McCasker and Will Hayes: Carlton’s VFL recruits over the off-season with previous AFL experience.

The game will be broadcast live on the AFL app from 5pm, with Carlton members also able to head into the match for free. Those wishing to attend the game must previously obtain a $0 ticket from this link by using their 12-digit barcode number.
