OVERVIEW
After being taken with the Blues’ first selection in last year’s rookie draft, Jesse Glass-McCasker added depth and height to Carlton’s list.
Paving his way in the VFL for the Northern Blues, the 19-year-old made his VFL debut in Round 1 against Footscray and went on to play 14 games in his debut season.
There’s no doubt the young defender will be looking to improve and develop his game in 2017 under Northern Blues coach Josh Fraser and Carlton coach Brendon Bolton.
Off the field, Glass-McCasker teamed up with Harry McKay in the first-years’ Nutrition and Food Preparation Program. The duo took home first prize in competition, showing their flare for cooking!
HE SAID IT
– Glass-McCasker was thrilled to have his dad at the Club’s ‘Dads and Dudes’ day earlier this year.
THEY SAID IT
“Encouraging performance from Jesse. He spent time on Vardy, defended really well and at different times provided rebounding presence.”
– Northern Blues coach Josh Fraser commends Glass-McCasker’s efforts in only his second VFL match.
SEASON HIGHLIGHT
In Round 23’s match against Port Melbourne, Glass-McCasker saved a certain goal, with a desperate smother on the goal-line. As his opponent looked to kick a sitter, the young defender came up behind him and fell on his foot, touching the ball over the goal.
