THE sixth AFLW season has been pushed back to January in the hopes to prevent any interruption to the season.
The 2022 AFLW season was initially brought forward to December, but now is set to commence on the weekend of the 6-9 January, 2022.
The choice was made to provide more flexibility to the players and hopefully, less disruptions to the season, allowing the season to run seamlessly.
The league is still committed to providing 10 rounds plus a finals series in 2022, however things could change depending on the state of the pandemic.
The pre-season is set to start at the start of September.
