Once planning approval had been obtained, Stage 1 of the redevelopment commenced on Thursday 5 November 2020, with all works completed on Monday 12 April 2021.

Works in Stage 1 included: 

  • Integrated high performance training facilities for AFLW and AFL players, including:
    • New changerooms
    • New and expanded gymnasium
    • New and expanded medical spaces
  • Refurbished administration areas.
