Originally from Collingullie, Kennedy played 19 games for Greater Western Sydney before being traded to Carlton in the 2017 off-season.

Finding his feet alongside Patrick Cripps and Sam Walsh, Kennedy’s contest work is certainly a strength, using his bigger body to bully opposition mids and force the ball out of tough situations.
Kennedy missed a large chunk of the 2023 season with a high-grade MCL injury but still managed 16 games – including the semi and preliminary finals.
Working on developing his game, Kennedy improved his season averages in disposals and clearances, as well as filling a role across half back when need be.
Kennedy married partner Mary-Anne in the 2023 off-season, having proposed the year before.
