The first-ever player to join the Club from the Carlton Academy, Domanic Akuei was selected as a Category B rookie by the Blues.
Playing for the Northern Knights, the defender came to Carlton through its Next Generation Academy, after being born in Sudan.
Featuring in 17 games in the VFL, Akuei was a mainstay for the Carlton Reserves’ backline, using his height and aerial prowess to cut off the ball on the last line.
In the pre-season, Akuei will work on developing his strengths, pushing for his AFL debut.
