The No.1 draft pick in 2018, Sam Walsh has flourished since he arrived at IKON Park.
Being elevated to co-vice captain in 2022 at the age of 21, Walsh is a revered leader, setting examples with his his unmatched professionalism and competitive edge on and off the field.
Unfortunately, after a consistent start to his career, Walsh has struggled with injury over the last three pre-seasons but has always found ways to get on the park and compete at the highest level.
This is evident by his third-place finish in the John Nicholls Medal in 2024, meaning he had finished on the podium in four of the last five vote counts.
Playing 119 games over six seasons, Walsh is continuing to develop in the midfield, alongside teammates Adam Cerra and captain Patrick Cripps.
