CARLTON veteran Dale Thomas will miss Sunday's clash with Hawthorn.
The 31-year-old defender, who has missed only one game all year due to suspension, had been named in the final 22 by the Blues on Friday. However, he was withdrawn on Saturday because of a laceration in his knee that hadn't healed properly.
Nick Graham comes into the side, having won 33 disposals and kicking two goals in the VFL for the Northern Blues last week.
It's another significant injury blow for Carlton, after already losing ruckman Matthew Kreuzer for this week's clash due to a concerning heart issue. Jed Lamb (suspended) also goes out of the team, along with the omitted Jarrod Garlett and Sam Rowe.
Jacob Weitering and Matthew Wright return from injury, while Levi Casboult is also back in the side. Former Port Adelaide ruckman Matthew Lobbe has been named for his club debut.
He may not have grown up a Bluebagger, but through his grandfather's influence, @MatthewLobbe is cherishing the Old Dark Navy Blue.
