The Carlton Football Club wholeheartedly remains committed to being an active participant in the fight against racism.
Too often the responsibility to speak out, listen and educate has fallen on the shoulders of too few.
As part of an industry where access to resources and programming is high, there is simply no excuse for any individual to fall short on the standards required to be respectful of others. The onus is on all of us to simply be better in creating a more equal and respectful space for each other.
We know that vilification, of any kind, is unacceptable and we should be celebrating our rich culture and diversity. We need to be accountable for our actions both online and within the communities in which we live, work and play.
We must celebrate our diversity and learn from one another. We must welcome the responsibility to influence change. Challenging behaviours and attitudes, calling it out amongst our own networks and most important of all, listening and learning, is what we must do to eradicate racism from our game and from society.
