The Carlton Football Club began the first leg of its journey under senior coach Brendon Bolton in 2016.
After notching up seven wins for the season – three more than last year – the Blues ended up finishing 14th on the ladder.

OVERVIEW
Michael Jamison followed Andrew Walker into the football sunset, having rounded out his 10-season career on game No.150 –and while his 2016 season was confined to just five senior appearances, he was a player who truly gave his utmost to the game.
In reflecting on his own football mortality, the popular clubman from Newlyn conceded he found it “increasingly hard to prepare, both physically and mentally, for the rigours of the sport”.
Before hanging up the boots Jamison was still giving his all, continually playing goalkeeper to stop the opposition scoring – even Lance Franklin couldn’t get past ‘Jamo’ in Round 2.
From mentoring young players such as Jacob Weitering and Sam Docherty, to hosting his own podcast ‘The Grumpy Old Defenders’, Jamison will be sorely missed at Carlton.

“I’m going to miss footy. Knowing I’ll never don the navy blue guernsey again is difficult to process, but I leave with a decade’s worth of memories that I’ll cherish for the rest of my life."

SEASON HIGHLIGHT
The veteran defender played his 150th AFL game alongside one of his fellow backmen, Kade Simpson, who reached his 250-game milestone in the same match. The pair celebrated with a stirring victory over Port Adelaide in Round 8 at Etihad Stadium. The joy on their faces after the match said it all.
