Carlton could regain Michael Jamison, Mitch Robinson and Troy Menzel from injury for Saturday’s clash with West Coast at Etihad Stadium.
Jamison had been sidelined with a leg injury, Robinson with an injured knee and Menzel with an injured hamstring.
All three players have trained this week and are expected to be available for selection.
It’s good timing for the Blues who lost three players to injury in the win over the Bulldogs.
Tom Bell will be out for up to a month after having surgery on his broken finger, while Ed Curnow will spend six weeks on the sidelines after fracturing his fibula.
Chris Judd was the other casualty – he went down with an injured hamstring just five minutes into his comeback from an Achilles injury.
The sudden blow has raised questions as to whether Judd was ready to return.
But Carlton’s Football Operations Manager Andrew McKay says there was no question over Judd’s conditioning.
“Everyone was very excited on Chris’ return, but certainly it wasn’t sped up because it was Chris Judd,” McKay said.
“He did the right amount of training and did everything possible to get himself up for the game.
“He trained to play a full game – it was just a really unfortunate thing that happened.”
The hamstring would have sidelined Judd for a month, but as Carlton has a bye in Round 9 he’s unlikely to return until the match against Adelaide in Round 10.
