Carlton skipper Chris Judd was named captain of the 2008 Coca-Cola All Australian Team on Monday night.
Judd was named as ruck rover in the All Australian Team, achieving the honour for a third time.
Named in the forward pocket and joining Judd in the team was Blues spearhead Brendan Fevola. It was Fevola’s second All Australian selection.
Judd had a brilliant first-up season with the Blues. The skipper led the competition in contested possessions and hard ball gets and last week won Carlton's best-and-fairest award – the John Nicholls Medal.
“My first year at Carlton has been great. It was a pretty big move, changing clubs, and I'm rapt to be at Carlton,” Judd said.
“I feel very fortunate to come into a club where the players are so accepting and have really taken to me, so I've enjoyed the year and with our young list, we're looking forward to bigger and better things next year,” he added.
Fevola missed the magical ton by just one goal when he finished with 99 majors – just three shy of Coleman Medallist Lance Franklin.
Fevola had his best year, averaging 4.5 goals per game, kicking two bags of eight and three hauls of seven.
"To win 10 games this year and to see the growth of a bloke like Bryce Gibbs and Marc Murphy, and you look at guys like Matty Kreuzer … they're all going to be super footballers and by the time they get up there, I'm going to be nearly finished so hopefully I can hang on and play some finals with these boys and maybe win a premiership,” Fevola said.
Carlton’s connection continued throughout the night, with President and nine-time All Australian, Stephen Kernahan presenting the forward line on the night.
