SURGING into sixth.
A perfect 10-vote performance from Sam Walsh has seen the 20-year-old elevate himself up the AFLCA leaderboard.
In Carlton’s 16-point win against Essendon yesterday, Walsh delivered another best-on-ground performance, topping the disposal count with 33 as well as eight clearances.
Walsh seemed like he was involved all over the ground, with his class, efficiency and composure standing out above the rest. His first quarter set the tone for the Blues, and the young superstar simply never stopped from there.
Down the other end of the ground, Jacob Weitering earned eight votes for his solid defensive work in the back half.
In his milestone game, Weitering took a game-high 11 marks and provided nine intercepts against the Bombers' forward line, locking the ball in the Blues' forward half and crucially standing up in an end-to-end game of football.
Adam Saad rounded out the votes with a solitary vote against his former side.
One of Carlton's best on the day, Saad's efficient performance on the MCG included his first goal and three direct goal assists in front of a hostile crowd.
