Blues Membership Continues to Climb
Carlton supporters are continuing to join as Members for 2011 with over 40,000 Members already committed.
“It is very encouraging to see our membership continuing to grow as the season commences and we are looking forward to more supporters joining as members in the coming weeks,” said Carlton CEO Greg Swann.
“At this stage we are more than 2,000 ahead than for the same time last year however we believe our membership should grow to record levels this year and we need to continue to increase our membership in line with a number of the other clubs,” Swann added.
Last year Carlton’s membership total was 40,599 a decline from the record membership of over 43,000 in 2009.
“Reaching 40,000 members is an important milestone and we are now striving to firstly set a record membership in 2011 and with the support of the thousands of Carlton supporters who are not yet members, we believe a Carlton Membership of 50,000 is possible,” said Greg Swann.
While the membership is more than 2,000 up on the same period last year, 7,000 members from 2010 are yet to renew.
Carlton’s membership packages were altered this year to reflect the feedback received from members in an extensive survey completed last year. As well as improved membership kits for all members a Member Recognition program has been introduced providing exclusive privileges including discounts in The Carlton Shop. The Adult Membership starts from just $82.
