INDIGENOUS ROUND
The AFL will celebrate Aboriginal culture this weekend, with Round 11 making the league's Indigenous Round. The Carlton Football Club is proud to have three indigenous players including Andrew Walker, Chris Yarran and Jeff Garlett.

In Saturday's clash with Brisbane at the Gabba, Carlton players will run out in a special Indigenous guernsey, designed by artist Emma MacNeill, who is also the partner of Carlton's Mitch Robinson.

In the lead-up to the match Carlton has been selling replica Indigenous guernseys in The Carlton Shop, and 50 per cent of the proceeds from the sale are being donated to the Yorta Yorta Nation Aboroginal Corporatoon (YYNAC).

The money will be used to strengthen community services and programs, particularly with the Rumbalara Football Netball Club, which is one of they key vehicles for social change for the broader Aboriginal community in the region.

The Carlton Football Club is forging a relationship with YYNAC as part of its broader community commitment.

The Yorta Yorta people are the traditional owners of a unique stretch of country located in what is now known as the Murray-Goulburn region of Victoria. Of particular significance to Carlton, star player Andrew Walker is a Yorta Yorta man.

To find out more about the YYNAC and the important work they are doing please visit their website: http://www.yynac.com.au/.

Unfortunately, our replica Indigenous guernseys are now SOLD OUT. However there is still the chance to secure an Indigenous match-worn guernsey, as these are being auctioned after Saturday’s game. Stay tuned to the Carlton website for details.
