Carlton's Michael Gibbons has received a rebel Goal of the Year nomination for Round 2. 

Earning the nod for his right-footed dribble which occurred in the second quarter, Gibbons was one of Carlton's best on Thursday night at the home of football.

Michael Gibbons adds an incredible goal to his ledger in the Round 2 clash against Collingwood.

Turning on a 10-cent piece deep in the forward pocket, Gibbons instinctively turned towards goal and bounced one home from the tightest of angles early in the second term.

It was one of Gibbons' three goals on the night, with his sidestep and banana in the opening term just as good.
