The game in focus:
This was the clash which may very well have been the 2020 edition of the AFLW Grand Final which ultimately never happened.
Carlton and Fremantle were the standout team in the standout conference last year, but the Round 7 clash will be the first time the two sides have met since the 2019 preliminary final.
It was a day to remember for the Blues that game, inflicting a 36-point defeat on the West Australians. However, it's been an even stronger Fremantle outfit following that game, having lost just one game in the near two seasons since.
For the Game Changers to keep their season alive, a home victory against Fremantle will be crucial. It really is all to play for at Ikon Park on Sunday.
What to watch:
It's hard to look beyond a true marquee match-up in the middle of the ground.
On the Navy Blue side of the centre circle is reigning AFLW Best and Fairest, Madison Prespakis. On the other side is Kiara Bowers, the current leader of the AFLCA Champion Player of the Year award.
There's sure to be fireworks when these two meet in the middle tomorrow afternoon, with Prespakis the premier ball-winner in the competition while Bowers has earned her reputation as the most prolific tackler of anyone across the 14 teams.
With intriguing one-on-one battles all over the ground, this is going to be a good one.
Blue view:
Attacking firepower was the name of the game for the Blues at the selection table, so they'll be looking for that to come to the fore tomorrow afternoon.
Tayla Harris has been recalled to the senior line-up after being managed last weekend, joining Serena Gibbs, Nicola Stevens and the in-form Darcy Vescio as marking options in attack.
With Fremantle boasting statistically the best defence in the league, the Blues are clearly looking to bring the heat to the Dockers on their home deck.
