Carlton CEO Steven Trigg admits there’s a feeling of disenchantment amongst some Blues supporters, but he’s vowed to do what it takes to restore unity.

On radio SEN on Friday, Trigg was questioned about Carlton membership and frustrations expressed by supporters.

The Blues chief didn’t mince words, admitting the Club “mucked it up” in some respects.

But he says a massive effort is underway to turn things around.

“The solution lies in being real about our efforts and our actions in getting supporters, corporates – everybody in what I’ve termed ‘the tribe’ – feeling like we’re being real in our efforts to, on the field and off the field, bring them in, to communicate well with them, be open and transparent about what we do, and to have complete unity through the club,” Trigg said.

As of Friday afternoon Carlton’s membership tally stood at 32,434 . While Trigg says he’s focusing significant efforts on building the match-day experience and getting people to games, he concedes membership is an area that needs attention.

“There’s a lot of growth that Carlton needs – and that’s short term, long term and sustainably,” he said.
