The 2019 AFLW Best and Fairest collected a team-high 24 disposals, 13 contested possessions and five clearances in the Blues’ narrow loss to the Bulldogs at Whitten Oval.

Not far away, as always, was the silky Georgia Gee who also received four votes hitting her stride to collect 17 disposals, lay eight tackles and kick one goal.

In just her second game of senior football, 2020 draftee Mimi Hill caught the attention of the coaches.

Playing across the wing and half-back line, the 18-year-old was clinical with her 19 disposals and seven intercept possessions providing the Blues with a much-needed launch pad out of defence.

Rounding out the votes for Round 2 was star forward Tayla Harris, her high-flying contested marking a highlight of the night.

Harris also kicked two goals to keep the Blues in the game, including a long-bomb from outside 50m.

With the Round 3 fixture now confirmed, the Blues will look to get their season back on track with a win over the Saints on Saturday evening.

Tickets for Saturday’s game will go on sale this Friday 12 February at 11am.
