Carlton midfielder Andrew Carrazzo took time from his busy schedule this week to spend time getting know patients at the Peter MacCallum Cancer Centre.

Joining Collingwood’s Chris Dawes, the two players also fronted a packed media contingent to promote and raise awareness for the Peter Mac Cancer Foundation.

“It is always very humbling to  see firsthand what the patients have to endure while going through their cancer treatment,” Andrew said.

“The team at Peter Mac do a fantastic job and we really hope that with our support we can continue to raise funds for this incredibly valuable organisation.”

To further promote the organisation both Carlton and Collingwood will battle it out this Friday night for the Peter Mac Cup.

The Peter Mac Cup was introduced in 1993 as the first ‘charity game’ on the AFL calendar, played between Collingwood and Carlton once each year, designed to raise funds and awareness for the Peter MacCallum Cancer Centre, the only specialist cancer hospital in Australia.

Carlton has not won this cup since 2009, when they beat Collingwood by 51 points.

CFCTV caught up with Andrew to see what the Peter Mac Cup means to him.
