They are second to Williamstown on percentage, with Port Melbourne also on three wins sitting third after four rounds. Williamstown, though, has only played three games having had the bye in round one.
Coach David Teague shares his thoughts on the match and how some of the Carlton-listed players performed in the big win.
It was a pretty good win for us on the weekend. We started slowly even though we knew Frankston was going to come out hard. We didn't play our best footy in the first half, but the boys kept fighting and in the second half, their skills took over.
Wins early in the year are very important. We've got a couple of tough games coming up, so it's good to get off to a solid start.
Jordan Bannister stepped up, we threw him into the midfield in the second half and he used his run, size and strength and won plenty of the ball while giving us some drive.
He's been progressing well and the weekend was the best he's looked. I daresay he's still a couple of weeks away from getting to full match fitness, but you can see how he's improving and his leadership is on display, which is valuable for the team.
Joe Anderson also played really well off the half-back flank and has had a month of consistent footy where he's beaten his opponent and given us plenty of run as well.
Mark Austin started the game in defence and played well there, and then we threw him up forward in the second half and he took a couple of good marks and kicked a couple of goals.
Eddie Betts' cousin Wes Bilney got his first game and kicked four goals for us. He was very good; we got him over from South Australia, he's on the Bullants' list and was very good.
Brad Fisher is playing a very important team role at the moment. He's probably not getting the rewards that he would like in terms of goals, marks and kicks, but he's doing everything I could ask of him.
Hopefully that will end up with him getting rewarded down the track.
Mitch Robinson started well and Frankston tagged him, so they rated him highly enough to do that and he still won 16 possessions to half time, which shows he's a quality player.
Coming back to the reserves has seen him get his hands on the ball and get more possessions in the last two weeks. His tackling has been right up there so hopefully it gives him a bit of confidence if he gets a call up.
Richard Hadley was very good again. He was in our best couple of players, was very strong at the contest and in the third quarter when we were dominating his centre clearance work was terrific.
Jeff Garlett missed last week with an ankle but came in and kept us right in the contest with his pressure. His crumbing was very good. He set up quite a few other goals as well, which was good.
Shaun Hampson has had his best month of football that I can recall. He didn't get as many possessions as he would have liked but his second efforts and his chasing, which is something he's worked on over the past month, was good.
Chris Yarran pulled out of the game with a little bit of tightness and had the weekend off.
Carlton rookie David Ellard is playing consistently. He's leading the team in tackles so he's doing everything he can and is getting the best out of himself.
Jake Edwards played his first game for the year in the reserves. He played about three quarters across half-back and he went okay without starring as he went about getting back into things.
Luke Stanton hurt his quad at training last week so he hasn't played for two weeks and will miss another four.
Next week we play Sandringham, who are aligned with St Kilda, and have a very good squad. It's going to be a tough game against a proud club.
