AFTER a third consecutive record-breaking season for Carlton members, the Blues now have the fifth biggest membership base in the league. 

67,035 Bluebaggers withstood the challenges of the 2020 season to support their club as members - 2,766 more than last year - to make Carlton one of just five clubs to surpass their record membership tally this year.

The Navy Blue jumper is about so much more than the players who pull it on every week.

 

Culminating in Sunday’s game against Adelaide, the Club will be celebrating members during Member Thank You Round, offering different rewards for members every day from Wednesday. 

To open Member Thank You Round, co-captains Patrick Cripps and Sam Docherty penned a letter to members to convey their appreciation. 

“Our footy club simply would not have survived this year without 67,035 of you signing up and sticking with us through what has been a season crazier than we ever could have imagined,” Cripps and Docherty said.

“Together, you have leapfrogged Essendon, Geelong and Adelaide to finish 2020 as the fifth biggest membership base in the league, adding 2,766 members to last year's record. This is something you should be incredibly proud of – we certainly are.”

Teague surprises Maureen

You may have heard the story of Maureen Appleby: the 94-year-old who beat COVID-19. When Teaguey found out the news she was a Bluebagger, he was quick to get on Zoom and find out how she was going.

 

For the playing group, Member Thank You Round has always held a special place on the football calendar.

“Every year during this round we look forward to giving you the recognition you deserve," they said.

“Our football club exists because of our members – you are our lifeblood and the reason we are able to run out and represent 156 years of history every time we pull on that Navy Blue guernsey.”

Nine year-old Scarlett receives a big member prize

Scarlett is the lucky winner of the $10,000 Carlton Direct cash prize presented by CUA. Thank you to all our loyal members, you have put your football club on your back and carried it through this challenging period.

A different prize will be up for grabs each day, as well as the member discount at The Carlton Shop being doubled to 20% for the week.

Members are also encouraged to have their phone at the ready on Thursday afternoon as the entire playing group will be personally calling a member each at random.
