CARLTON President Mark LoGiudice has spoken proudly about how the Club has handled the COVID-19 situation and its impact on the Club.

In a year full of challenges, LoGiudice is proud of the way the Club and all staff, players, fans and sponsors have responded to the adjustments.

With Carlton still fighting for a finals position, LoGiudice was thankful for all the support that the Club has been given in the last five years to get back to this point.

“We put them [fans and sponsors] on a path back in 2015 and asked them to believe in what we were doing,” LoGiudice told SEN.

“I know our members and supporters have experienced a lot of tough times, but I think they know it’s progressing in the right direction.”

The appointment of David Teague as Senior Coach is something LoGiudice believes was a good move for the Club noting that his presence and personality during the lockdowns has been valuable.

“He (Teague) finds the positives in these situations and turns them into opportunities,” LoGiudice said.

“He plays a different game style, he plays an exciting brand of footy and he’s a great relationship person.

“He’s been fantastic for the Club and even just the way he communicates with our members and the commercial team and the players, his coaches, he’s doing a very good job for the Carlton Football Club.”

With Carlton playing Collingwood this weekend, LoGiudice echoed the sentiment of many of his fellow Blues in not being able to watch the next thrilling battle between the two arch rivals live from the stadium.

However, he looks forward to the day when supporters will be able to once again get together and cheer on the Blues in a packed MCG.

“Whilst it’s been great to watch our progress this year, there’s nothing better than watching the game at the stadium,”  LoGiudice said.

“Carlton and Collingwood, doesn’t matter where they are on the ladder, they’re always fantastic games to watch and this one in particular, given where we are both at this year, would’ve been an amazing game, I really believe we would have filled the ‘G on Sunday.”
