The story of the Carlton guernsey - from the days of the lace-up and the chamois yoke through to the famed CFC monogram and the dark Navy Blue - is soon to be told by way of an exhibition in the foyer of the High Performance facility at Visy Park.

Treasured items of club apparel, including premiership caps of 100 years past and of course the prized guernseys themselves, will be featured, along with rare footage of the 1909 Grand Final when the Carlton players took to the MCG in all manner of playing strip.

While Carlton can lay claim to a number of guernseys currently held in storage, the pre-CFC top remains elusive - and with the exception of a replica jumper recently passed in at auction at Charles Leski, the old blue lace-up has not been seen for nigh on 100 years.

To that end, Carlton would be truly appreciative if anyone in possession of such a guernsey might see fit to temporarily loan the item to the club for the purposes of the display.

Visitors to Visy Park can expect the guernsey showcase to be completed before the New Year.
