Carlton recruits Shaun Grigg and Shaun Hampson have been included in the Blues 28 man squad to take on Hawthorn at Aurora Stadium on Saturday night.
Carlton recruits Shaun Grigg and Shaun Hampson have been included in the Blues 28 man squad to take on Hawthorn at Aurora Stadium on Saturday night.Grigg was taken with Carlton’s third pick (No. 19) in the 2006 NAB AFL Draft, Grigg had a superb 2006 with the North Ballarat Rebels and with Vic Country, winning All-Australian under-18 honours. Grigg, is known for his speed, an important component in the make-up of a modern footballer.Carlton’s ruck stocks have been bolstered by the inclusion of Hampson, who has just two years’ experience in the game after switching from soccer. Noted for his speed, the big man recorded 3.00 seconds for 20m at the NAB AFL Draft Camp. Hampson, who played for Queensland at under-18 level this year, had an 86cm vertical leap at the camp, which placed him in the top five per cent of all players tested.The squad will be trimmed to 24 prior to Saturday nights match.Carlton Squad 1.
