The Spirit of Carlton was on show in Launceston last weekend when a number of past greats held a supporters lunch that coincided with Carlton’s match against Hawthorn at the MCG.

Former Carlton football greats Val Perovic, Geoff Southby, Ken Hunter and Jimmy Buckley were there to entertain the strong Carlton crowd throughout the day.

Despite the nail biting clash at the G the highlight of the day for most who attended was the presentation of Carlton guernseys to Harvey family from Zeehan.

After a tough 18 months following the death of their mum to a blood disease, Connar, 7, Sophie, 11, William, 13, and Lorraine, 14 were presented with something to brighten their day.

Each were presented with Carlton football guernsey signed by their favourite players.

The children’s father, Allan, was lost for words.

"It's just magnificent," he said.

"Just to meet these players and what they've done here is just magnificent."

The family are passionate Carlton supporters and before mum and wife Selina's death they would travel to at least two interstate games each year.

The Spirit of Carlton will hold a supporters function in Adelaide prior to the Blues clash with the Crows.
