The Northern Bullants held on to defeat Box Hill on Saturday afternoon. The Ants got off to a great start and outplayed Box Hill for the majority of the day but couldn’t quite put them away.
After kicking the first 5 goals of the game, the Bullants didn’t make the most of their opportunities from there. In the first quarter the Bullants had 28 more possessions and moved the ball well.
In the last quarter kicking 2 goals 4 behinds, as Box Hill piled on 6 goals, 1 behind, to give themselves a chance. In the end however the Bullants desperation showed and eventually came away with a win, making it 3 wins and 2 losses after 5 games.
From a Carlton perspective Luke Blackwell was a standout, with 43 possessions he worked tirelessly all day. Adam Hartlett provides good run from defense, while Clinton Benjamin looked exciting with 7 shots for goal.
