The Carlton Football Club today launched its 2011 clash guernsey.
As a result, Carlton players will wear a striking new sky blue guernsey in four matches through the home and away season.

Carlton CEO Greg Swann told carltonfc.com.au that the club wanted to stick to the fundamentals of the jumper.
“We believe we have the most recognisable guernsey in the AFL, and we wanted to stay true to that,” Swann said.
“As we all know it is an AFL requirement for each team to have a clash guernsey. We are not in a position where we can just reverse our stripes or increase our sash and call it a clash guernsey.”
Players will wear the Guernsey, together with sky blue shorts and navy blue socks, for the first time in Carlton’s Monday night match against St Kilda in round 7. The guernsey will also be worn against Melbourne, Port Adelaide and Fremantle in rounds 10, 11 and 21.
“After four seasons in the white clash strip, we wanted a change, we wanted to keep within the ‘blue’ colour palette, and select a colour unique to the AFL landscape,” Swann added.
