One more goal and the night would have been perfect for the 4,500 Carlton supporters who watched the semi-final live on the big screen at Visy Park on Saturday night.

There was a great atmosphere throughout the game and even when the final siren sounded, with the Blues just 3-points behind, there was nothing but genuine respect for the 22 Carlton players. The crowd at Visy Park applauded the performance while also being so disappointed with the result.

“I just can’t believe the season is over it is such an empty feeling but I am so proud of the way the boys played, they were fantastic,” said one Carlton supporter leaving Visy Park after the game.

And the big crowd at Visy Park was part of the Network Ten match broadcast with a number of crosses to Visy Park during the match showing the excitement among the Carlton supporters watching the game on the big screen.

Even the Carlton players were aware of the support back home with a number mentioning the size of the crowd after it was shown on the big screen at Patersons Stadium after a Carlton goal.

The result of the game was not what we wanted but the Carlton team certainly lost no respect and the Carlton fans have once again shown how strong and united their support for the team is.
