The Carlton Football Club was happy to be involved in the Carlton Community Sports Festival last Saturday. The event was held at the Melbourne University Sports Centre and run in association with Sports Without Boarders.
Around 100 boys and girls from different cultural backgrounds braved the taxing conditions to participate in a wide range of sporting activities. The Carlton Football Club organised an interactive Australian football zone for the children to practice their goal kicking, handballing and tackling skills.
The best sportsman on the day received a 2012 team signed lithograph jumper and the best players in the 6-a-side soccer competition received a Carlton Auskick football. In line with the themes of the day, everyone competed in a fair and respectful manor but, most importantly, each participant had a huge amount of fun!
