The second episode of interactive webcast, “The Blue Print” was streamed live to Carlton Members and Supporters, with club President Stephen Kernahan the special guest in the show before fielding questions from Carlton supporters in the exclusive Google+ Hangout following The Blue Print.

Kernahan responded to a myriad of queries from Carlton supporters after joining hosts Andy Maher and triple Carlton premiership player Mark Maclure in assessing the events of a trying week, and the Blues’ inspired victory over Collingwood at the MCG.

In reflecting on the stirring 23-point victory over the Magpies, Kernahan talked of how the players to a man delivered with intensity and of how he turned to his wife Jenny early in the match and said “I think we’re up and away here”. He commended all senior players for their hardness at the contest and the coaching fraternity for their planning and preparation in what was a week of intense scrutiny for all connected with the football club, and impressed the importance of backing up against North Melbourne on Friday night.

Maclure too acknowledged the competitive showings of first-gamer Andrew McInness and the recalled Ed Curnow and the run, carry and finishing of Chris Yarran. He also marveled at Nick Duigan for booting three goals and keeping Nick Maxwell accountable.

“(Matt) Kreuzer was outstanding. I loved the way Kreuzer played in the ruck all the way through,” Maclure said. “He took marks around the ground and contested for 98 per cent of the time. There’s no need for two ruckmen, he came off the ground really tired and that’s what you’re supposed to do.”

Maclure believed the win was all the more meritorious given its timing after a few difficult days.

“The coach was questioned, the President was questioned and everybody in the whole footy club was questioned - and they answered a few things.”

The Blue Print is live on carltonfc.com.au every Tuesday from 1pm.
