After taking a heavy knock to the knee in Friday night’s win against Collingwood, Dennis Armfield has been cleared of any structural damage.

The speedy midfielder collided with Chris Judd in a contest half way through the first quarter and was taken straight to the rooms for treatment, before returning to the field to play out the match.

“I heard a big crunch and wasn’t sure what happened, it was my first proper knee scare and I was probably in a bit of shock,” he said.

“I had a bit of treatment on it at half time and got it strapped up as a precaution and was able to play out the rest of the match.”

Although elated with the 60 point win over archrival Collingwood, Dennis said the team had well and truly moved on to this week’s match.

“We are obviously very happy to get the win, but we are now totally focused on Essendon, it is only Round 4 and there is a long season to go,” he said.

Carlton will take on Essendon at the MCG this Saturday at 1.45pm.
