Visy, the Carlton Football Club and Boots For All have teamed up to kick goals for the community.

To coincide with World Environment Day, Carlton’s sustainability partner Visy is working with the not-for-profit organisation to recycle quality, second-hand football boots and other sports equipment. These goods will be distributed to disadvantaged communities across Australia ensuring quality goods are provided to those who are unable to access affordable sports equipment.

Visy Ambassador Chris Judd and Boots For All Ambassador Tiffiny Hall today launched the program that will continue at the Round 11 game between Geelong and Carlton and then for the rest of June.

Chris Judd, Visy Environmental Ambassador said we can help the community in such a simple way, with things we no longer need.

“Collectively, we are aiming to break down barriers to sport by raising awareness for Boots For All.  They re-distribute recycled footy boots and other sports equipment to disadvantaged Australians.

“We encourage those attending the game to bring any reusable boots or sporting equipment and donate them into one of the many bins that will be located around the ground.”

There will be a Visy environmental sanctuary set up at Gate 5. Here, there will be face painting and activities for fans to enjoy. Donation bins will be located at Gate 5 and Gate 7 with Geelong and Carlton fans to bring in reusable boots and sporting equipment. One lucky supporter will also be chosen to toss the coin on the night.

Visy is supporting the community to help make a better world. Through initiatives such as these, they aim to educate and encourage young people to lead more sustainable lives, by inspiring healthier lifestyle choices and encouraging sustainability. They believe it's up to us to help build the world we want to live in and we're determined to do our bit.

Boots For All Ambassador, Tiffiny Hall believes that no one should miss out on playing sport because they can’t afford sporting equipment.

“Active participation in sport helps to improve the health and well-being of our community and with your help, we can make a difference. So please donate last year’s sports equipment today.”
