Hey Aaron,
you played great today!
what were the thoughts from the boys at 3 Quarter Time?
GO BLUES!

Aaron Joseph: Hi Jen, the boys haven’t really played in the wet weather for a while now so I think it just took us a little while to adjust.. backing that answer up we came out in the last quarter and found our feet and hit the scoreboard.  Having two Tasmanians in the side really helped us though as we are used to playing in the rain also!

beau - 6:32 PM Saturday, June 05, 2010
hey aaron
good game how do you think the tassie boys are going

Aaron Joseph:  G’day Beau. Us tassie boys are going really well. Simon wiggins (our general) really looks after us all and gives us good feedback on our games. Marcus Davies is playing really good footy down back for the ants and Mitch Robinson is having a great on-filed year so hopefully we can start seeing some consistency with that.

G'day Aaron. You are one of my favourite players. I am 7 and play Auskick. I am not very big. Do you have any advice for me so as I can be as good a player and a good tackler like you are?? Go Blues.

Aaron Joseph: Good on you Zach. Growing up I wasn’t so big or tall either, and  I wasn’t allowed to start doing weights until I was 16-17 so I was playing on a lot of bigger and taller players. Even now I still play on a lot of bigger opponents so I rely on my speed and smarts to beat them. With my tackling you have to get really low and tackle their hips. Hopefully that helps you.

Hey AJ
GREAT WIN..I was just wondering, if there is a particular routine you go through before a match and who do you get along with really well at the club?
GO BLUES

Aaron Joseph: Hi Emily, every morning of a game I get up around 8-8.30am and have 6 pieces of toast with butter and vegemite.. and every chance I get before the game starts I’m drinking water and powerade.. I don’t really like to eat a lot the day of the game because I feel too heavy. Other than that I just sit around and stretch and watch tv and not really get too worked up beforehand. The player I get along well with is Dennis Armfield, I play down back with him so we gel well together.

Tahlia - 8:11 PM Saturday, June 05, 2010
Hey Aaron, What a great win today me and my mum went to it and we were soacked by the end of the game =) My question is who do you think was best on ground today? Thanks so much for answering our question =) (Your my friends favourite player)

Aaron Joseph: Thanks Tahlia, being down the backline I don’t really get to see what goes on up the field and see who is playing well. But from what I hear after the game and the next day would be Andrew Carrazzo doing his job on Aaron Davey and really shutting him down. We don’t really focus on too many individual efforts. If we all play well we usually win and I think that’s what got us over the line on the weekend. Dennis Armfield is who I get along well with.

hi Aaron,
Amazing game today, you we're clearly in front the whole way through.
I was wondering if you have a certain strategy for when the weather gets hectic like it was today with pelting rain? Especially since playing in the rain doesn't occur that often in Melbourne. Do the tactics and strategies change to suit the weather?
Frances

Aaron Joseph: Thanks Frances. What you have to take into account is that the ball is going to be on the ground a lot and there is going to be a lot of errors made. So my mindset would be to keep the ball in front and not let it get out the back for the forwards to scoop onto it and kick a goal. The next thing would be if I get the ball I’m putting it on the boot as quickly as I can to get the ball closer to our goals.

Hi Aaron
Good win, it seems that the team continues to concede the middle of the ground whilst using the wings to attack, is this deliberate as it allows good teams to rebound quickly off halfback and can be damaging against quick teams such as Essendon

Aaron Joseph: G’day Adam, I think Collingwood is a perfect example for playing along the boundary a lot. There is a lot of risk going through the middle of the ground but a lot of reward also. If you are a good kicking team like Geelong then go through the corridor and use your skills to your advantage. Playing the boundary is just a safe option and if it goes out of bounds it’s a win for us. Because we’re a very good stoppage team with the likes of Juddy and co around the ball.

Sheppa - 11:54 AM Sunday, June 06, 2010
Hey Aaron, You've been playing great footy over the past 18 months playing in a tagging role. Do you find playing in this less glamourous role, with the task of stopping an opposition player suits your game? If you had your choice, where would you play?

Aaron Joseph:
Thanks Sheppa, If it requires me to not think a lot and just have the mindset of stopping my opponent then I’m happy doing that.. I find myself needing a task every week to keep my focus on the job and the game and that allows me to play good footy. If I had a choice I will like to play up forward to kick a goal or two. I don’t get that opportunity very often!

Hey AJ,
Great game yesterday. I really enjoy watching you play, reminding me a lot of Darren Hulme. Small tough guy, that gets in there and really has a red hot go.
Being the a tagger, part of your role is to annoy the living daylights out of your opponent... Do you find their reaction to your constant niggling funny? I sure do!

Aaron Joseph: Haha, their reactions do sometimes go overboard and most of the time ends up with me getting bashed! So it’s not that funny for me.

Dear Aaron Joseph,
is it true that you are currently in a band called the PVB'S? If this is true, who is in the band and what instrument do you play?
Also, can you perform at my birthday party?
GO BLUES!!!1!!!

Aaron Joseph: Thanks for your question Mitch Robinson! And it is true. PVB stands for Pascoe Vale Boys and you are currently in the band with me. Simon White could also have a future as a band manager if all goes well. I play the guitar and kind of look at my playing somewhat similar to Slash’s. And it’s your birthday today! So maybe I can go out of my way to play you a little birthday song.

Hi AJ
Just want to congratulate you on a great season so far!! You get some on the hardest & toughest players on the field sometimes and you always give your best! Well done! I can tell you have worked so hard on your tackling & fitness levels, who is your most inspirational player at Carlton? I just bought a new guernsey with 45 on it! I will wear it with pride! Keep up the good HARD work!! X

Aaron Joseph: Thanks for the kind words…Chris Judd would have to be my most inspirational player at the footy club. You all see what he can do and the field but it’s what he does off the field every day for him to be able to play like he does.
