Carlton’s continued improvement in 2011 has been reflected off the field with a record membership of 42,411. This number breaks the previous official membership record of 42,408 set in 2009.

“This is a fantastic result for the Carlton Football Club. It reinforces the wonderful support the Carlton Football Club receives from a strong, committed supporter base,” said Carlton CEO, Greg Swann.

“We certainly value the loyalty of our Members and understand how fortunate the Club is to enjoy such loyal support, with so many getting behind the Club to ensure Carlton continues to grow and develop,” Swann added.

Significantly, the Carlton team has still only participated in four home matches this season and is now preparing for the first of three successive home games. Over the next three Sunday’s Carlton will host Brisbane, Sydney and West Coast at Etihad Stadium.

“We still have seven home games to play this season, including three in a row from this Sunday,” Swann said. “There is still great value in Carlton membership in 2011 and there is no better way to support the Club and feel a part of the team than to be a Member.

“If the growth in support of our website and social media is an indication, and the team continues to perform well, there is a possibility Carlton will have over 45,000 members by June 30th.”

Carlton has welcomed over 8,000 new members in 2011 while almost 6,000 members are still to renew from 2010.
