KL hosts Asian Championship
The Carlton Football Club recently sponsored the Malaysian Warriors Australian Rules Football Club in the Asian Australian Football Championships.
The Championships, now in their tenth year were held in Kuala Lumpur on the 5th September.
“The championships went perfectly, we received numerous comments during and after the event from a majority of the countries involved, confirming it was the best Asian Australian Football Championships held so far,” Malaysian Warriors Australian Rules Football Club President Glen Sargeant told carltonfc.com.au
“Without the contributions of our sponsors, like Carlton, it would have been a much greater challenge in efficiently running a massive event for all Asian countries and media to enjoy,” he added.
The Malaysian Warriors Australian Rules Football Club finished the championship ranked 3rd in Pool A, the eventual winners Dubai Heat were the number 1 ranked team in the pool.
The Warriors Under 18’s team made the Grand Final, but were beaten convincingly by Jakarta
Carlton's sponsorship of the Malaysian Warriors helped to further promote Australian Rules football in Malaysia as well as further highlight the association between the Carlton Football Club and our joint major sponsor Malaysia.
