In planning for our 2011 membership campaign, we wanted to understand the views of our members so that we could find ways of improving the benefits we provide to you.

The club contracted market research experts swat>marketing to undertake extensive market research of 2010 current members and 2009 lapsed members.  Over 2,500 supporters completed an online survey, which is a fantastic participant level and we thank all of those who gave their time and feedback.

We learned a lot about your views and your needs.  Key findings from the survey are:

·         While most members feel good about supporting such a great club, most also feel that their membership is important to the club.  This is very true - income from membership is vital to ensure the players receive the best possible equipment, facilities, coaching and off field support

·         The majority of members disliked the membership slogan and the design of the 2010 membership brochure.  Given this feedback, we’ve changed our approach to the design of the 2011 brochure

·         Some members don’t renew their membership for financial or personal reasons.  The Adult 3 package that we introduced in 2010 is an option for members in these circumstances.  While member feedback about this package was positive, not enough know about it.  This will be addressed in 2011

·         Not all of our members are aware of the range of membership payment options.  There is some confusion about the Carlton for Life direct debit option. The club needs to provide better information about payment options, particularly direct debit, so that members can pay their membership in ways that are most convenient for them

·         The majority of lapsed members feel that they will rejoin, if not in 2011, then at some time in the future.  We are developing ways the club can  make it easier to renew with better information, flexible payment options and other membership benefits

As an incentive for supporters to complete the online market research, the Club supplied 10 gift cards to The Carlton Shop each to the value of $100. The random winners of the gift cards are listed below -
