The Carlton Football Club confirmed today that Brad Fisher and Michael Jamison have re-signed with the Club.

“We are delighted that both Brad and Michael have pledged their commitment to Carlton in what is an important time in their playing careers. The Club has made a commitment to provide the personnel and structure to continue the development of the playing group, both as individuals and as a team, and we believe Brad and Michael are very important players for the Carlton Football Club going forward,” said General Manager Football Operations, Steven Icke.

“Brad is one of the more senior players at the Club having made his debut in 2003 and he was recently included in the players’ leadership group, highlighting his important role at the Club,” said Icke.

“Michael Jamison made his senior debut late last year after being elevated from the Rookie List and, in his short AFL career, has already consolidated his position as one of our key defenders - such is the positive impact he has had,” added Icke.

Fisher, who has re-signed for two years, was recruited from East Burwood via the Eastern Under 18s with Carlton’s sixth round selection (number 72 overall) in the 2002 National Draft. He made his debut in Round 2, 2003 against Collingwood and has now played 81 games for the Club.

Jamison has re-signed for three years. He was recruited from Newlyn via North Ballarat with Carlton’s second round selection (number 17 overall) in the 2007 Rookie Draft. He was elevated to Carlton’s primary list during the 2007 season, and made his debut in round 18, against Collingwood and has now played 13 games.

“It is an exciting time to be involved with the Carlton Football Club. We have had some tough years since I made my debut and I am keen to play my role in the continued resurgence of the Club,” said Fisher.

Jamison believes he is fortunate to have joined Carlton at the right time. “It is great to be a part of the young playing group coming through together. We have a great coaching structure and development program that is giving all of us the best chance to succeed,” Jamison said.
