Michael Jamison is a welcome return to the Carlton side after missing the last seven matches with a knee injury. Jamison injured his knee during Carlton’s round 14 match against West Coast and the only question this week was not if he was going to play but if he would come straight into the side or perhaps have a week in the VFL with the Bullants.
After training well this week and with the fitness behind him there was no hesitation in selecting him in the side for the match against Hawthorn.
Speaking at a Captains’ Table luncheon at Visy Park today, Senior Assistant Coach Allan Richardson said the inclusion of Jamison was a real positive for the team, not just for this game but as we head into the finals.
“Michael is an important player and would have been right up in our Best & Fairest voting before he was injured. He had the base behind him and has been able to do plenty of work in the last few weeks to ensure he is ready to play. It is a testament to our medical and rehabilitation teams that he is right to come back into the team tomorrow night.”
Making way for the return of Michael Jamison is Zach Tuohy.
