The Carlton Football Club has launched what is undoubtedly the most comprehensive timeline of any international sporting institution, including Manchester United, some 14 years the Blues’ junior.

As Carlton nears its 150th anniversary, the club’s long and illustrious history can now be seen in its glorious totality on its dedicated Facebook page.

It’s all there - from 1864, when the good men of the Carlton Football Club first convened at Lygon Street’s University Hotel, through to  the 16 premiership seasons and the Brownlow Medal moments of ’47, ’61, ’64, ’94 and of course 2010, when the captain Chris Judd “took Charlie home”.

The Facebook Timeline Cover Image features five of the Club's greatest captains.

Also featured is the senior debut of the great John Nicholls, the audacious signing of captain-coach Ron Barassi, Alex Jesaulenko’s iconic mark over Graeme Jenkin and Judd’s landmark decision to commit to Carlton.

For any self-respecting Blues fan with an historic bent, it’s a must see component of the club’s view ever-expanding social network.
